Americans say they draw inspiration from Asia when it comes to beauty trends (such as cushion compacts and sheet eye masks), but when we actually do our makeup, the differences are vast. For instance, women in Japan and Korea are more likely to wear bright-pink blush, whereas Northern American and European women are still loving their bronzy, contoured cheeks. Makeup artist Lisa Eldridge is qualified to break down the distinctions between these two parts of the world because she was the former creative director of Asian brand Shiseido and currently holds the same title at French company Lancôme.
