Achieve Ultimate Mermaid Status With 3 DIY Hair Coloring Tricks

I want to preface this by saying that to get the best bright colors, you actually need to have light hair. No exceptions. If you see a brunette with pastel hair, don't get it twisted - she had someone bleach her hair to achieve that look. That said, you can definitely color your hair bright hues as a brunette, but think about layering a lighter shade, like white, under a color to make it pop. It might take more work, but you can still do it.
Now that that's out of the way, MERMAID HAIR! UNICORN HAIR! RAINBOW BRIGHT HAIR! Whatever you want to call it, it's a fun, vibrant look that lets you embrace your inner artist. And although I mentioned that bleach is involved, can try these methods on your hair if you've already lifted to to a blonde tone. Check out the three methods you can DIY in the video, and don't worry - these are all temporary, so they'll wash out immediately or over a few weeks. Just remember to wear gloves, something you don't mind getting dirty, and avoid wearing white if you're using chalk!

The Harry Potter Cameo You Might Not Have Noticed on Game of Thrones This Week

If you watched this week's episode of Game of Thrones, chances are Sam's brother looked awfully familiar - that's because you've seen him before. The actor's name is Freddie Stroma. While you may recognize him from Pitch Perfect or UnREAL, perhaps his most notable role is as Cormac McLaggen in the Harry Potter franchise! Of course, this isn't the first time a Harry Potter/Game of Thrones crossover has happened. In fact, there's so much overlap, we couldn't stop ourselves from sorting Game of Thrones characters into Hogwarts houses. See Stroma as you might remember him below, and keep your eyes peeled - you never know when another Harry Potter star will appear on the HBO drama.

This Game of Thrones Theory Will Make You Worried About Dany Heading to Westeros

If Game of Thrones fans can agree on anything, it's that Daenerys Targaryen kicks ass. The Mother of Dragons (amongst many other names) is a phenomenal conquerer of regions, but a new theory states that her ability to win over kingdoms might spell trouble for Westeros - here's why.

Dany gives an incredible speech at the end of "Blood of My Blood," telling her khalasar that each and every one of them are her Blood Riders, and that together they will take charge of the Seven Kingdoms. It's exactly what we've been waiting to hear from her for the past six seasons, and she finally has the army to back up her plans. In the "Inside the Episode" after season six, executive prodcer David Benioff confirms that Dany's pursuit of Westeros is "something that's been set up for quite some time, and now we're seeing it come to pass." Start watching at 3:25:

So our khaleesi is finally going to do this thing! She'll bring peace to Westeros and end slavery forever! What could go wrong? Well, nearly two years ago, Reddit user CongressmanX proposed a frightening theory: Dany could follow in the steps of her father, the Mad King.

"The more I read the books, the more I am convinced she is turning crazy like daddy. I am noticing that she is objectively written like those completely crazed out and murderous Targaryens of old. Yet George managed to write her in a way where people think she is the hero. This was a neat trick. One of the most evil characters presented doing lots of murdering and other cruel shit yet he managed to make people (especially show only) love her and consider her a savior."

Oh . . . no. While CongressmanX is reffering to the A Song of Ice and Fire series, the sentiment holds true for the TV show as well. Dany has created a lot of collateral damage on her way to the throne, and she does have crazy blood in her veins. Just a few episodes ago, she burns a ton of khals alive. Sure, they're threatening to rape her, but that behavior is also pretty normal in their culture. (I cringed writing that, but it's true.) Now, she's about to come charging into Westeros with huge group of bloodthirsty Dothraki soldiers. While it might mean Dany has a good chance to fend of the White Walkers when Winter finally comes, it definitely spells trouble for the Lannisters, Starks, and basically everyone whose name isn't Targaryen.

So, is Dany, our khaleesi, our Breaker of Chains, our Queen of the Andals and the First Men, actually the villain of Game of Thrones? While the idea is almost too much to bear, it does make sense.

All the Gory Details Regarding Benjen Stark's Shocking Reappearance on Game of Thrones

Spoilers for the most recent episode of Game of Thrones are below!

If you're having trouble remembering who Benjen Stark is, you're not the only one. He mysteriously disappeared from Game of Thrones a long time ago, and now, we finally know why. For years, fans of the books have speculated that the character known as Coldhands has actually been Benjen all along, and although Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin adamantly denied that he'd be taking that route, the show seems to be doing just that. In season six's sixth episode, "Blood of My Blood," Benjen and Coldhands appear to be one and the same, and it's clear his role in Bran's new life as the Three-Eyed Raven will be an important one.

At the beginning of the episode, Bran and Meera have nearly given up hope of escaping the horde of wights hot on their trail when a hooded man arrives on horseback to save the day. After he takes out the icy members of the undead with some fire, he reveals to Bran that he's actually his long-lost Uncle Benjen. When Bran questions the former First Ranger of the Night's Watch about his whereabouts all these years, Benjen explains that on a range north of the Wall, he and two other members of the Night's Watch were attacked and killed by wights. Benjen was stabbed through the stomach with a sword made of ice, and while the other men died (their bodies were found by the Night's Watch and brought back to Castle Black, where they rose as wights), a few Children of the Forest - those green, sprite-like creatures who live in the cave with the Three-Eyed Raven - came upon him and stopped the wights' magic before it could reach Benjen's heart by stabbing him with dragonglass.

The Children of the Forest are the ones responsible for creating the first White Walker, which they did by plunging a piece of dragonglass into a human man's heart. It seems doing the same to Benjen, who was near death at the time, left him in a state of not quite alive, not quite dead. His skin is mottled and gray, but he lacks the bright blue eyes that are a trademark of wights and White Walkers. In A Storm of Swords, Bran asks Benjen about his appearance directly:

"'Who are you? Why are your hands black?'

The ranger studied his hands as if he had never noticed them before. 'Once the heart has ceased to beat, a man's blood runs down into his extremities, where it thickens and congeals.' His voice rattled in his throat, as thin and gaunt as he was. 'His hands and feet swell up and turn as black as pudding. The rest of him becomes as white as milk.'

'He's dead.' Bran could taste the bile in his throat. 'Meera, he's some dead thing.'"

Despite Bran's clear trepidation about trusting someone who isn't, well, human, Benjen/Coldhands had a connection with the original Three-Eyed Raven, and will no doubt be the one to guide an inexperienced Bran through all of the hurdles he'll face in the coming episodes.

This Braided Headband DIY Is an Unexpected Bridesmaids Hairstyle Idea

You're probably sick of every blow-dry bar bridesmaid menu option: the fishtail, the half-up bun, the waterfall, etc. Been there. Instagrammed that. Game of Thrones: Bran's Vision May Have Revealed Something MAJOR About Daenerys's Dad

The internet lost its collective mind on Sunday when Bran had yet another time-traveling vision - this time featuring the "Mad King" we've heard so much about over the past six seasons. The stressful cacophony of jumbled-together flashbacks swapped between various events in Westeros's history, including Ned Stark's beheading and the Red Wedding, revealing a whole lot of information in a very short amount of time. But it seems that the order of these visions was intentional; there was a connection so quick that you might have missed it, but it contained a potentially huge revelation about the entire Game of Thrones plot.

Daenerys Targaryen's dad, the Mad King Aerys, is shown screaming his famous line, "Burn them all," from his seat on the Iron Throne. This might not stand out as unusual, except that in Bran's vision, the Aerys flashback is continually sandwiched smack-dab between cuts of White Walkers and King's Landing pyromancers preparing stocks of Wildfire. This fits with our knowledge of the slain king's story, of course, which Jaime Lannister describes to Brienne of Tarth during their famous bath:

"Aerys saw traitors everywhere, so he had his pyromancer place caches of Wildfire all over the city. Beneath the Sept of Baelor and the slums of Flea Bottom. Under houses, stables, taverns, even beneath the Red Keep itself . . .
Then he turned to his pyromancer. 'Burn them all,' he said. 'Burn them in their homes. Burn them in their beds.' . . .
First, I killed the pyromancer, and then, when the king turned to flee, I drove my sword into his back. 'Burn them all,' he kept saying. 'Burn them all.' I don't think he expected to die. He meant to burn with the rest of us and rise again, reborn as a dragon, to turn his enemies to ash. I slit his throat to make sure that didn't happen. That's where Ned Stark found me."

Jaime's account of the Mad King's actions certainly holds true based on Bran's flashbacks - but what if the reasoning behind them was misinterpreted? Since it was revealed (through Hodor's tragic storyline) that Bran is able to change the visions he sees, it's been a popular fan theory that perhaps the Mad King was driven mad by "whispers" from Bran or the Three-Eyed Raven. Based on this vision's placement between White Walker invasions and Wildfire, it seems like the show is very close to confirming that the king's obsession with "burning them all" stems from a well-intentioned hint from a friendly neighborhood greenseer.

The internet agrees - many believe that this deliberate scene placement indicates something more beneath the surface.

Within a short minute of showtime, the flashback convinced a whole new group of fans to believe the theory about time-"warging" causing Aerys to descend into madness, much like Hodor was permanently damaged by hearing voices telling him to "hold the door" as a teenager.

An even more convincing aspect of the theory, though, is the belief that the Three-Eyed Raven was actually a legitimized Targaryen bastard named Brynden Rivers.

If this theory proves true and the Three-Eyed Raven's lineage is Targaryen, then he may have tried to warn his family of the dangers beyond the Wall . . . only to realize that no good can come from meddling within his visions. This would explain both the Raven's cautions to Bran during their training and the Mad King's descent into madness.

We already know that fire is one way to kill wights, so stocking up on Wildfire would probably prove effective if the White Walkers brought their undead army to King's Landing. But since King Aerys had already gone a tad crazy, it's not surprising that his screams of "burn them all" and ridiculously dangerous stockpile of magical flames were unsettling to everyone who encountered him. After all, Wildfire doesn't stop at killing wights.

We're sure to get more information about the Mad King in future episodes, but it certainly seems that the Game of Thrones writers are going the fan-theory route with his storyline. Plus, if somebody doesn't take care of the White Walker problem soon, there might be a need to "burn them all" after all.

This Photo Series Shows Off the Breathtaking Beauty of Redheads

Redheads have it tough. Many are teased for their startling hair hue growing up, and even online dating sites make fun of freckles. Photographer (and fellow redhead) Thomas Knights sought to change the way this beauty minority is perceived with his project Red Hot, an exhibition showcasing how sexy redhead males are. This work was turned into a book and a charity project, which has raised over $65,000 for antibullying programs.

Now the artist is back with a new exhibition and book, Red Hot 2, for which he is collaborating with Welsh designer Elliott James Frieze. "I knew the conversation had to evolve," Knights explained. "This exhibition and art book will explore the beauty of the redhead's pale skin; its supposed fragility, and poetic appearance."

Knights shared that this inspiration came from a bias he saw toward faux tanning products and "healthy glow"-related beauty ideals in Western media. "I just do not fit into [these ideals], and will never fit into [them]," he said. Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts, models Olivia Inge and Ken Bek, and artist Nathan Wyburn have all posed for Red Hot 2. The images are seductive, striking, and just completely spellbinding.

The photographer shared that he will also be examining the beauty of freckles and mixed-race redheads for this project. "It's for anyone who feels in any way like they don't fit into a cultural norm," Knights remarked. "I just chose pale skin and red hair because that's the truth I have lived." He plans on including all of these new images in another book.

"I also hope this book will further pose the question, 'What is beauty?'" Knights added.

If you are a redhead, there's even more exciting news: you could possibly be featured in the exhibition! Knights is currently on an international quest for one woman and one man to include in Red Hot 2 and has started a contest on social media. For more details about the contest and to support the photo series, visit its Kickstarter page here. Read on to see some of the breathtaking images, but be careful - some of them are a bit revealing!

Music can make or break a movie, and in the case of Me Before You, the soundtrack elevates the story to a whole new (very emotional) level. Imagine Dragons, Ed Sheeran, and The 1975 are all featured in the film, and the collection of songs makes for a great playlist on its own. Unfortunately, Jessie Ware's "Till the End" isn't available on YouTube or Spotify (yet), but we've rounded up all the other tracks, plus one bonus song that's in the movie but not on the soundtrack. Take a look, subscribe to our Spotify playlist at the end, and check out the soundtrack on iTunes!

Kylie Jenner Reveals Details About the First Shade Featured on Lip Kit Confidential, 22

If you can't get enough of Kylie Jenner's lip kits, good news! The star recently debuted a new project on her app called Lip Kit Confidential, for which she'll reveal never-before-shared details on each of her formulas. The very first one she talks about is 22, a red-orange matte that gives every pout a fun pop.

It turns out she almost named this shade Kourt K, after the eldest Kardashian sister. Instead, she opted for 22, which was inspired by her favorite number. "The number 2 represents your divine life purpose and soul mission, so 22 basically doubles all of that," Kylie shared on her app. She also mentioned that she first tested it without any makeup and loved it enough to keep it on the rest of the day.

Although this red-orange may be bolder than the neutrals you may opt for on the daily, Kylie claims the shade fits everyone. Take a look ahead at how it looks on several different complexions!

Pope Francis Loves YouTube Beauty Tutorials as Much as You Do

We've frittered away countless hours in front of our computer screen mesmerized by hair and makeup tutorials. While this seemingly slothful habit has made us feel a bit guilty in the past, we've now been given serious approval for our hobby . . . by the pope himself.

According to The Guardian, Pope Francis met with 12 YouTube stars from around the world to offer his support for vlogging. "You can create a virtual identity; you belong to this circle at least virtually. From that you can start taking a path of optimism and hope," he told the group.

In particular, he called out Louise Pentland, known as Sprinkle of Glitter on YouTube.

"I am glad that you carry out the type of work you said, following the line of beauty, it's a great thing," he said. "To preach beauty and show beauty helps neutralize aggression."

Many people around the world have found solace in digital communities during times of strife. Beauty videos have provided countless fans with not only inspiration but also a place to share opinions, start conversations, and make friends. By meeting with YouTubers, Pope Francis is confirming that he truly believes that the internet is a "gift from God." The jury is still out, though, on how he feels about the contouring trend.

But the one trick that's sticking with me this Summer came from Isabel Lopes, executive director of creative fragrance development.

As she broke down the notes for the romantic new fragrance Today Tomorrow Always Amour she revealed an application tip that's a must try in warmer weather. "Heat rises, and so does fragrance," Isabel explained, "so don't forget to apply perfume to the backs of your legs." If you include a spritz behind your ankles in addition to all the usual spots (wrists, neck, and hair), you'll be enveloped in a delicious bouquet all day. Even better, you'll leave a sexy scent trail behind you that will make everyone turn heads as you walk by. During a season that can get sweaty and disgusting fast, it's nice to have an easy, pretty pick-me-up at your disposal!

Hate Your Skin Tags? Here's What You Can Do About It

There are a few beauty woes that are just unavoidable, no matter how sincere your efforts are to bypass them. Rain will ruin your hair at least once. You'll smudge your lipstick. And, at some point, your epidermis will sprout a skin tag. We consulted Manhattan dermatologist Dr. Neal Schultz, host of DermTV.com and creator of BeautyRx by Dr. Schultz. He gave us the scoop on what these bothersome bumps are, what causes them, and (if you must!) how to get rid of them yourself.

When dealing with a complexion issue, it's important to know what you're up against. First, make sure what you're looking at is actually a skin tag. Unlike moles, which are usually pink to brown in color and feature symmetrical borders, skin tags are more oddly shaped and tend to match your complexion's shade.

"They grow out from your body, but vertically," Dr. Schultz stated. The benign tumors are comprised of epidermis and a little bit of dermis - the two upper layers of skin. "Their height is usually much greater than their width. Sometimes they have a very narrow stalk so they are virtually hanging off by a thread," he explained.

When I asked Dr. Schultz what causes these pesky spots, he told me that this remains unknown. "To a certain extent, they are hereditary and tend to occur in certain characteristic places, where skin folds on skin," he said. Skin tags frequently crop up under the arms and where the legs meet the body. "They seem to occur more often in people that are overweight," the doctor added.

However, if your skin tags are darker than your complexion, you may be dealing with dermatosis papulosa nigra, or DPN, a raised skin lesion that is commonly seen on complexions of those of Hispanic, Asian, or African descent. Dr. Schultz said that these tend to occur around eyes and on the cheekbones. "They look similar [to skin tags] but are not the same." These benign tumors come from keratinocytes, the cells that are responsible for producing skin pigment.

If you were concerned that these skin conditions were a sign of cancer or another ailment, relax. Neither DPN nor skin tags are an indication of any health risks. "They're not dangerous," declared Dr. Schultz. "Just annoying and inconvenient."

Despite being innocuous, you might find your skin tags to be unsightly. If that's the case, a dermatologist can remove them fairly easily. Dr. Schultz prefers to use the tip of a very fine pair of scissors to snip a skin tag off at the base. Other options include using an electric needle to cauterize the skin or freezing off the tumor, which he particularly doesn't recommend.

"Freezing is so imprecise that it tends to affect the skin around the skin tag," he explained. And it's this imprecision that disturbs him when patients try to remove these bumps themselves.

"While it doesn't take eight years of medical education to remove a skin tag, there are certain basic principles that have to be observed," Dr. Schultz cautioned, citing using sterile tools and completely disinfecting your skin as essential.

While we don't recommend taking off your own skin tags, if you feel that you must, Dr. Schultz declared that the most sensible method is to use a tight piece of string. We advise consulting with your doctor beforehand, then proceeding with caution!

Use a sterile piece of gauze and isopropyl alcohol to thoroughly cleanse the area and a length of thread. After looping the string around the very base of the skin tag, double knot it so it is very tight, cutting off the blood supply to the skin tag. Finish your DIY dermatological procedure by trimming the ends of the threads with a disinfected pair of scissors, so the string doesn't catch on anything.

Patience is key! Once you've tied the string, do not touch the skin tag except to dab it with a bit of alcohol. After a few days to a week, the tiny tumor should fall off on its own. When this happens, be sure to nourish the small wound with a bit of antibacterial ointment, keeping it covered with a bandage until the area has healed - that way you won't leave a scar.

The doctor is particularly against most of the over-the-counter medications available for removing skin tags. When people apply these caustic formulas at home, many get more of the product on the surrounding area than the actual tumor itself, which can lead to blistering and scarring.

A skin tag is harmless and practically invisible to others, so if you don't think you can remove it safely, don't risk it. In the end, you could make a blemish more noticeable (and painful!) than that tiny little bump.

Game of Thrones: All the Prophecies You Need to Know About

If there's anything that Game of Thrones does well, it's make the future seem scary and unpredictable. One of the best ways the show gets fans going nuts with theories is with prophecies, since there's little certainty (yet) of how they'll turn out. The TV show goes into less detail about prophecies than the book series A Song of Ice and Fire, but here's a rundown of the major predictions we've seen on screen so far.

Obviously, major spoilers ahead for all seasons!

How Game of Thrones Has Confirmed Who Jon Snow's Parents Are

Jon Snow has the spotlight in season six of Game of Thrones, as his resurrection and reunion with Sansa have been among the biggest storylines. One thing we're dying to see explored this season, though, is who Jon Snow's parents really are, and it's becoming clearer that it's going to happen this season.

It may be the biggest Game of Thrones mystery, and not only do we not know who Jon Snow's mother is, but there is a mystery of his father, too. Any self-respecting fan will tell you that there's no way Ned Stark is Jon's dad, though that's how he was raised - and what we have been led to believe.

While the truth of his parentage has not been revealed in George R.R. Martin's books yet, there is one prevailing fan theory of who Jon Snow's parents are. Previous seasons of the show didn't confirm it as much as season five did with a host of little hints that this major theory is true. None of this counts as spoilers because it hasn't happened in the books or on the show, but this is where you should stop reading if you want to remain in the dark. For everyone else, let's get into the theory and how the show has all but confirmed it.

Game of Thrones: Did We Just Learn the Secret to Defeating the White Walkers?

The following contains major plot points for episode six of Game of Thrones season six.

Dragonglass resembles obsidian, a type of naturally occurring glass formed by volcanoes. But unlike real-world obsidian, dragonglass in Game of Thrones has magical significance.

What Powers Does Dragonglass Have?

Sam discovers a bag of dragonglass beyond the wall and uses an ancient dagger to kill a White Walker. Later, Bran witnesses the Children of the Forest plunging a dragonglass dagger into a man's heart, creating the first White Walker. When Benjen Stark rescues Bran, he reveals that he was attacked by a White Walker and would have become one himself if the Children had not stabbed him with dragonglass, halting the transformation process. So dragonglass can create, destroy, and halt the birth of White Walkers.

Why Is It So Important?

Dragonglass isn't the only weapon that can kill White Walkers. Valyrian steel has also been proven to stop the dead, but as Randyll Tarly reminds us this week on Game of Thrones, there are only a handful of Valyrian steel swords left. Unfortunately, there are tens of thousands of White Walkers, and their numbers only seem to be growing. There isn't much dragonglass left, but with the stashes of daggers found in the North and massive deposits in Dragonstone, there's certainly more dragonglass to go around than Valyrian steel.

Could Daenerys and Her Dragons Create More Dragonglass?

Dragonglass might be the key to evening the playing field against the White Walkers. With Daenerys and her fire-breathing dragons presumably on the way to Westeros, there could be a way to create the first new dragonglass in centuries. And since dragonglass doesn't just destroy White Walkers but also halts their creation, the dragonglass could be a real resource to our heroes in the coming battle against the White Walkers.

Game of Thrones: Who Is the Blackfish and Why Is Everyone Worried About Him?

Warning: spoilers below!

When we last saw Brynden "The Blackfish" Tully on Game of Thrones, he was ducking out of the wedding of Edmure Tully and Roslin Frey to use the restroom, in a stroke of remarkably good timing. The Blackfish hasn't appeared on screen since he narrowly escaped the carnage at the Red Wedding, but he's kept remarkably busy. Petyr Baelish tells Sansa that the Blackfish is amassing an army, and Walder Frey rages at his sons for allowing the Blackfish to retake the castle of Riverrun.

So Who Is Brynden Tully?

Brynden "The Blackfish" Tully is the younger brother of the Head of House Tully, Lord Hoster Tully, and the uncle of Catelyn Stark. Since the death of Hoster and the capture of Edmure, Brynden has acted as the head of House Tully. He earned his reputation as a fierce fighter and accomplished knight during the War of the Ninepenny Kings, twenty-five years before Robert Baratheon ascended the throne.

Why Is He Called The Blackfish?

Although his older brother Hoster wanted Brynden to marry and seal a powerful alliance for House Tully, Brynden preferred to remain single. Since the sigil of House Tully is a trout, Brynden quipped that he was the "black fish" of the Tully house. The nickname caught on, and Brynden became known as the Blackfish. He even began flying his own version of the Tully banner, with a black fish rather than a silver fish.

What Is He Up To in the Riverlands?

Since the Blackfish narrowly avoided the massacre at the Red Wedding, he's been on the run. Roose Bolton reports his escape to Walder Frey with concern. His worry might be justified: the Blackfish's reputation as a fighter precedes him. The Blackfish rounds up the remnants of the Tully forces and manages to drive the Freys from the Tully seat at Riverrun, putting his house back on the map.

What Role Will He Play?

The Blackfish is the uncle of Catelyn Stark, making him the great-uncle of Sansa Stark, and potentially a powerful ally to Jon and Sansa's forces. Sansa sends Brienne to Riverrun in the hopes that her great-uncle will help her retake the North. But as accomplished as the Blackfish might be, his forces are still limited. With Jaime Lannister headed to the Riverlands to retake Riverrun for the Lannister, the Blackfish might have his hands too full to help Sansa.

Contouring Queen Kim Kardashian Is Officially Over Contouring

Kim Kardashian has long been hailed as the "queen of contouring" and the star responsible for bringing the technique to the masses, but she has decided to step down from her (well-defined) throne. At the Vogue UK Festival, Kim disclosed that she's interested in fresher, more natural-looking makeup.

"I think right now it's more about non-touring, like real skin with less makeup on it," she explained in a discussion with makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury. "I'm trying to wear less . . . and my husband loves me without makeup."

Though some may find Kim's revelations a bit shocking, we're completely unfazed. Kanye has been a key figure in his wife's style evolution, cosmetic choices included. You also have to take into account that sisters trade beauty secrets, and Kendall Jenner is a master of the more strobed, less chiseled non-touring look. Maybe Kim and Kendall have compared notes.

"I'm really into strobing now, so just highlighting the skin without using bronzer," Kim added. This doesn't surprise us, either. The OG Kardashian sisters recently released two supershimmery strobing domes, perfect for re-creating this look.

However, just because Kim prefers a more natural look these days doesn't mean she's totally giving up contouring. "I love contouring," she gushed. "I don't think I'd stop contouring my nose - I know people think I've had a nose job but it really is just makeup!" And that's true! Kim has revealed how her go-to artist Mario Dedivanovic perfectly sculpts her snout into a tiny ski slope. Now if only Kim would share her eyelash tricks with us . . .

See How 1 Makeup Artist Uses Her Face as a Canvas For Classic Paintings

Art has a different way of inspiring the audience, and for makeup artist Lexie Lazear, it inspired her to re-create paintings on a canvas she knows very well - her face.

"I love art, so I started with pieces that have always spoken to me, and plan to keep going until I'm struck by a new inspiration," Lazear told BuzzFeed.

The California-based artist has taken classic paintings like Van Gogh's "Starry Night" and Gustav Klimt's "The Kiss" and transformed them into makeup masterpieces. Like any true artist, Lazear doesn't draw a complete rendition of the paintings. Instead, she finds elements of the art that speak to her and creates a "fantasy makeup" look.

The trend of borrowing inspiration from literal works of art seems to be hitting it off, because colorist Ursula Goff has used paintings as her muse for her clients' hair.

"Art is expression," Lazear said. "And we're all unique, looking for ways to express that." See her brilliant masterpieces when you read on.

Why You Need to Know the Game of Thrones House Mottoes

The dialogue on Game of Thrones isn't always the easiest to follow if you haven't read the books, and one of the edges that those who read the novels may have is recognizing the House mottoes. See, in the Seven Kingdoms, each family (or House) has their own motto, a saying that represents them. While the show doesn't explicitly tell you which is which, the writers have used clever ways to have the characters say their own motto, and in some cases, the phrases have been used as episode titles. In case you don't know why the Starks say "Winter is coming" so much or why the Lannisters seem really into paying back their debts, this rundown of each House motto is for you.

Hayley Williams Wants You to Bleach Your Own Hair at Home

While rainbow hair has been the top beauty trend for the past few years, Hayley Williams was rocking colorful coifs well before it was cool. If you are a Paramore fan, then you've been familiar with her ever-changing mane since she and her bandmates got together in 2004.

"It's amazing what dyeing someone's hair will do for their day, let alone their identity, be it who they are or who they present to the world," Hayley gushed to POPSUGAR. "I became passionate about that side of it." The singer explained that she usually picks her hair hue based on her emotions, whether it's due to her mood or the music that she's working on. True fans have seen her sport every shade from red and blue to her favorite hue, orange (which she wore on her wedding day).

Because Hayley has been experimenting with hair color for so long, she knew exactly what she wanted from an at-home dye - and she couldn't find it. She and her colorist, Brian O'Connor, would often mix two to three different brands together to achieve their desired results. That's why they decided to collaborate on their own vegan, cruelty-free, eco-friendly color line, Good Dye Young, launching this June.

If you've never taken the plunge into rainbow hair, trust us when we say this brand will inspire you. Hayley and Brian worked hard to create a collection that is as fun and funky as it is good for your hair. The drip-free, creamy formula is packed with sunflower and bergamot oils to richly nourish every strand as it infuses it with semipermanent pigment. Good Dye Young is launching with five shades ($14 each), as well as the mixing potion "Fader" ($14) that allows you to customize your own pastel shade, a bleaching kit ($9), and a tool arsenal ($6).

And, yes, that means that Hayley and Brian want you to bleach your own hair at home - safely, that is. They're equally passionate about education as they are about bright colors and have provided extensive resources on the Good Dye Young site. "We want people to feel empowered by Good Dye Young," Hayley said. "The idea is to really create a world within hair, beauty, and fashion for people who are excited about expression."

The duo has plans to provide fans with color recipes so they can craft their own perfect shade and are starting to shoot and share DIYs. But they're already getting great feedback from Hayley's celebrity pals, who got early access to the products. "I got to send hair dye to Shirley [Manson] from Garbage," she said proudly. "And Josh [Dun] of Twenty One Pilots takes the pink on the road and touches up himself. He'll write me randomly like 'Man, it's so easy to use!'"

Still wary of dyeing your strands at home? Color virgins, you can still add some pizzazz to your style without taking it platinum first. Brian suggested trying Rock Lobster or Blue Ruin (or mixing the two!) for a subtle stain on your mane that's only visible in certain light. "I love that look," Hayley added. "It's really pretty but dark and mysterious, like [Fairuza Balk's hair in] The Craft."

Read on to see Good Dye Young's range of fun, foolproof color, then shop it when it launches this June.

You Have to See How Birth Control Made This Woman's Acne Disappear

When we hear about a "magical cure" to any beauty ailment, be it wrinkles, enlarged pores, or breakouts, we only have one question: where are the before-and-after photos? Imgur user seventytimes generously shared selfies of her journey through acne treatment with the internet, and the simple treatment she used shocked us: it was your run-of-the-mill birth control pill.

Seventytimes bravely revealed many photos of herself bare-faced, showing off her cystic acne. She explained that much of it was caused by ceasing her use of Prednisone, a powerful corticosteroid that treats everything from lupus and asthma to Crohn's disease. One of the unfortunate side effects of withdrawal is blemishes. "My dermatologist was convinced I'd have to go on Accutane," she said.

For those of you unfamiliar with Accutane, it is the strongest acne medication on the market. Many have seen incredible results from taking this treatment, but it is not without risks. Not only is it severely drying to the skin, but Accutane can cause terrible birth defects, and you must commit to using two forms of contraceptives while taking it. Many women elect to use birth control pills during this time, including Imgur user seventytimes.

"I started the pill a month in advance," she remarked. "Five months later, my skin has never looked better. No Accutane necessary."

If you guys are wondering what else birth control can do...

According to NYC dermatologist Dr. Neal Schultz, host of DermTV.com and creator of BeautyRx by Dr. Schultz, oral contraceptives decrease your skin's oil production. This is one of the primary causes of acne. While this treatment isn't for everyone, it could certainly be a good option to try before Accutane, which is seen as a "last resort" by many dermatologists due to the severity of its side effects.

Just like Accutane, birth control pills can also have disadvantages, including weight gain, migraines, mood changes, and melasma. No acne treatment is one size fits all, so be sure to ask your doctor what's right for you before starting any new medications.

In addition to taking birth control pills, seventytimes also swore by a few changes to her beauty regimen. She now always washes her face before bed, preferring to cleanse in the shower (she declares her face, neck, and chest get cleaner this way). Once weekly, she uses face masks and switches her pillowcase to a clean, fresh one. She also got all new makeup brushes and cosmetics and uses a special towel exclusively on her face.

These are all excellent variations to her routine. Many people fail to realize how dirty their pillowcase can get - it's not just old makeup remnants and face grease that are soaking into the fabric, but oil from your scalp, hair products, and other blemish-causing bacteria. By purging her beauty stash and starting fresh, she can ensure that all her products are hygienic, too. See more of seventytimes's amazing pictures when you read on.

This Trend Will Make You Look Like You're From Another Planet - in a Good Way

As far as music festival season goes, nailing down your beauty look is just as important as planning out your day-by-day show schedule. And for festival-goers looking to dance the day away in the heat looking out of this world, there's one trend that's dominating 2016: space girl makeup and hair.

This fad - which takes its cue from Disney movie Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century - has crept up through Tumblr, YouTube, and Instagram to become one of the most popular looks of the season. While some may keep this style on reserve for Halloween, it's subtle and low-key enough to work well for festivals, where music-lovers are encouraged to make a statement with their hair, makeup, and outfit.

Why "Becky With the Good Hair" Has a More Powerful Meaning Than Infidelity

Being the other woman is never fun or a good idea - but being the other woman when it comes to Beyoncé's marriage is reputation suicide. Enter scene: Rachel Roy.

Let's back up - at the 2014 Met Gala, Solange Knowles notoriously hit Jay Z in an elevator. Allegedly, she was pissed that Jay Z had cheated on her sister, Beyoncé, with fashion designer Rachel Roy. Jay Z worked with Rachel when she was the creative director of Rocawear, a clothing company Jay Z launched with Rachel's now-ex-husband, Damon Dash.

The elevator incident went viral but had died down in the media until Saturday, April 23, when HBO released Beyoncé's new visual album, Lemonade. In it, Beyoncé sings, "He only want me when I'm not there / He better call Becky with the good hair." While it has not been confirmed that Lemonade is biographical, it certainly seems to shed light on her marriage to Jay Z and its rumored problems.

After the album debuted, the internet was teeming with conspiracy theories. We knew there was a "Becky" (the other woman), but we didn't know who she was.

Then, Rachel inserted herself into the situation by sharing a photo on Instagram captioned: "Good hair don't care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always. Live in the light #nodramaqueens." This clue about having "good hair don't care" caused people to point fingers at Rachel for being Becky.

She also shared a more positive photo that said: "All you shld seek in friendships is love & no judgement, growth & laughter." Rachel eventually made her Instagram private and tweeted: "I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn't be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind."

The BeyHive (as Beyoncé's fans call themselves) is swarming Rachel's social media accounts with spiteful comments as well as lemon and bee emoji.

Sleeping with someone else's husband is definitely in the wrong, but so is cyberbullying.

Some people believe there is a bigger issue surrounding "Becky." Rather than trying to figure out if Becky is or isn't Rachel, they point out that there are racial undertones to Beyoncé's lyrics. The inference is that "Becky" has desirable, sleek hair, while Beyoncé has a naturally curly texture under the wigs and without hot tools. It sheds light on an overall picture when it comes to how black coarse hair is perceived, since the former is "good" and the latter is assumed to be the opposite.

"The fact that people are trying to figure out who Becky is defeats the purpose of this lyric - and the whole performance to me," said POPSUGAR social media editor Larissa Green, who is biracial. "Being pushed aside because our hair is coarse and doesn't follow a straight and narrow is something very real to me. I think her lyric means: if you can't handle it, then that's no one's problem but your own."

Black journalist Bené Viera shared a lengthy Facebook post on the matter. Some highlights include:

"And if you're writing that it's mainly about infidelity and marital strife w/Jay you've missed the mark. Let's start here though: Beyoncé made #Lemonade for Black women first, then Black people as a whole. . . . If you didn't know what 'call Becky with the good hair' meant without Googling, put your pen down. . . . Put aside the gossip for a second to dig a bit deeper. . . . This is about so much more than her working through a man cheating. It's about black womanhood and that journey of coming into your own. Deciding that love is transformative. Telling us, black people, black women, that with love and hope we will win. Realizing our power as women. And healing. Lemonade tackles lineage, generational curses, black feminism, the work women put into relationships, how anger can fuel greatness, sisterhood, loving ourselves, reconciling with being a daddy's girl while simultaneously being disappointed with how he did your mom, power, healing, freedom. Black women ALWAYS being given lemons but making lemonade. Don't reduce it to a story about infidelity. Please."

Read into it what you will - these are just theories and speculations until Beyoncé goes on the record to officially explain it. And let us know your own beliefs in the comments!

The Kardashians' New Matte Lip Colors Give Kylie's Lip Kit Competition

Say what you will about them, but the Kardashians know how to publicize major makeup techniques and trends. Beauty pros know that highlighting and contouring isn't new (it's been done on movie sets for decades!), but when Kim, Khloé, and Kourtney made it their signature looks, fans and haters alike started strobing themselves. Similarly, matte pouts have been in and out of vogue since ancient Sumerians and Egyptians invented lipstick over 5,000 years ago. However, it was Kylie Jenner's notorious Lip Kit that made millennials obsess over the flat finish.

This Summer, the three eldest sisters have taken their beauty savvy and created trendy new products for their cosmetics line, Kardashian Beauty. The brand exclusively gave POPSUGAR a sneak peek at the 2016 Summer Squad collection, and dolls, trust us when we say you'll want it all.

We're especially jazzed about Kardashian Beauty's two newest launches, DashLight Strobing Domes and Mirror Matte Finish Crayons. The former provides that lustrous gleam that we've envied on the trio's cheekbones for ages, while the matte lip colors might actually be more addictive than little sister Kylie's formula.

Read on for our reviews of the products and to see them swatched on two different skin tones, then shop the collection! It's available on KBeauty.com and in Ulta stores this June.

Is Sansa Pregnant? This Theory Makes a Heck of a Lot of Sense

The latest episode of Game of Thrones is so eventful that we wouldn't blame you for missing a very important line of dialogue. While Sansa is telling off Littlefinger, she describes to him exactly what she suffered at the hands of Ramsay Bolton. "I can still feel it. I don't mean 'in my tender heart it still pains me so' - I can still feel what he did in my body standing here right now." Yes, of course she could be referring to the fact that Ramsay brutally rapes her, but could the line imply something else? Ramsay had been aiming to produce an heir with Sansa; is it possible that he succeeded in impregnating her?

It's not the first time this rumor has surfaced; back in February, the internet freaked out when an official picture of Sansa from the new season made it look like the character could be pregnant. It could definitely be the way her cloak is draped . . . or it could be that she's pregnant with little Ramsay. If that's true, heaven help us all.

Go Behind the Scenes of Fast 8 With Vin Diesel, Tyrese, and The Rock

Let's just get this out of the way: I, for one, will never tire of Fast and Furious movies. Production has just begun on Fast 8, and I'm already salivating over Instagram shots from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, newcomer Scott Eastwood, and Ludacris. Check out all the pictures of the cast bonding (there are even a couple with new villain Charlize Theron!), and take a look at the whole cast and all the details we have about Fast 8.

Who Are the Faceless Men on Game of Thrones?

Though much of Game of Thrones' storylines are shrouded in mystery, everything about Arya Stark's is particularly elusive. While some of the Starks have reunited, Arya has been sweeping, washing corpses, and perfecting her combat skills in the House of Black and White. She's hard at work training to be a Faceless Man.

Who Are the Faceless Men and What Are They Capable Of?

They're a guild of assassins based in Braavos with a reputation for being both extremely successful in their work and extremely expensive to hire. But they aren't employed by just anybody. They serve the Many-Faced God, also known as the God of Death.

Our first taste of a Faceless Man comes with Jaqen H'ghar, who spends time with Arya in Harrenhal on season two. He tasks her with naming three people for him to kill after she'd taken three lives that weren't hers to take. Upon later escaping Harrenhal, he gives Arya a coin and the phrase "Valar Morghulis," both of which will help her find him in Braavos if she wished to train with him. With that, he shows off an ability of the Faceless Men - changing his face to that of another person's - and disappears until Arya arrives at Braavos on season five. In the books, Jaqen doesn't appear again at all. Rather, a character called the Kindly Man takes on the role of Arya's mentor.

How Do the Faceless Men Come to Be?

During Arya's training with Jaqen, he reveals the story of the Faceless Men's history, which goes all the way back to ancient Valyria. In the city's volcanic mines, slaves prayed to different gods, pleading to end their suffering. A man heard their pleas and concluded that they were actually all praying to one god with many different faces: Death. The man then began killing the slaves and eventually their masters, thus beginning the Faceless Men and instilling their belief that death is a gift.

What Would Becoming a Faceless Man Mean For Arya?

Since season five, Arya has been immersed in the world of Faceless Men and the Many-Faced God. Should she become a Faceless Man herself, she would live the life of an assassin with no true identity. Instead of Arya Stark, she'd become "no one" and possess the ability to shapeshift into an entirely new person to assist in killing those who request death from the Many-Faced God.

Despite Arya's sheer determination in training, we've gotten many hints that suggest she may not be fit for her new lifestyle. She's already gone against the rules when she killed Meryn Trant for personal gain, an act which temporarily blinded her. Another Faceless Man called the Waif also always insists that Arya's not ready to join their ranks. Most recently, Arya watched a play in Braavos that crudely portrayed some events of the War of the Five Kings thus far - including the beheading of her father and her sister Sansa's time in the hands of the Lannisters. It serves as a reminder that Arya's not yet "no one"; she's still a Stark. Will she eventually relinquish that part of herself to truly become a Faceless Man?

Half-Up, Half-Down Hair Tutorials For the Lazy-Chic Beauty Girl

Thanks in part to Ariana Grande's signature ponytail, half-up, half-down styles are making a major comeback after their renaissance in the late '90s. Though we'll always love the way Topanga and Lizzie McGuire rocked this look, today's versions are a little less scrunchie and a little more versatile. In addition to the classic high ponytail, modern styling has added buns and braids into the half-up, half-down mix.

Thankfully, this trend is hitting its peak just in time for Summer, when longer locks often present a challenge for finding looks that minimize the hair sweat (yes, that's a thing) . . . without minimizing the beauty. These styles make reliable go-tos, as they're appropriate for a variety of occasions.
