Just when we thought we knew the real Dr. Elliot Rollins, Pretty Little Liars has pulled the rug out from under us. We recently dug up everything we could find on the mysterious doctor, but in this week's episode, we learned that the man treating Alison DiLaurentis at Welby had been using a fake identity. So who is he? As you might recall, Emily asks Toby to look into the connection between Mary Drake and Rollins. We have seen the two conspiring frequently so far this season - in an attempt to get Alison's money, they've driven her crazy to the point of admitting herself into Welby. While Toby couldn't dredge up much about Rollins and Mary Drake, he managed to discover a few shocking facts about the cruel doctor.
Turns out, the real Dr. Elliot Rollins died of a stroke 15 years ago, at the age of 72. So, the "Dr. Rollins" we've been watching this whole time is a fraud. Chances are his real name is Archer Dunhill. Hanna and Mona first hear the name while searching his car. They find and answer his burner phone, and Jenna Marshall, who is back in Rosewood, calls him "Archer." In the sneak peek for the next episode, Emily discovers a full name: "Archer Dunhill."
That's pretty suspicious, since that would mean his real name has the initials "A.D."! So, were we right all this time? Is Archer now the top suspect for "A.D.," the one who's been pulling all the strings to get revenge for CeCe? It's not totally impossible. We previously saw a little girl tell Aria and Hanna that she saw Elliot and CeCe kissing at a farm. So, the two were probably linked romantically. We also see Mary Drake later pay a visit to Alison in Welby, basically saying she's in charge now that Archer/Elliot is gone.
As we PLL fans know, though, you can never be sure. We don't know for sure if he's A.D. What we do know now is that we're more confused than ever. Is Archer somehow connected to Rosewood in a deeper way? Also, did CeCe know his real identity? What is his true connection to Mary Drake? And how does Jenna know him? Hopefully we get some of these answers next week!
